The Probabilities of the Four Lines:
Coins and Yarrow Compared
As the probabilities of the hyperlines [6, 7, 8, 9]
for coins is (resp.) [2,6,6,2]
we see that the probability that a given
line in the first hexagram will be [yang, yin] is [8,8].
And the probabilities of [yang, yin] for the second hexagram
is the same.
But for yarrowstalks, the hyperline probabilities are [1,5,7,3],
so the probability of one [yang, yin] line in the first
xexagram is [6,10], and in the second hexagram, [8,8].
So here at last you see the main difference between the coin
and yarrowstalk oracles: [8,8] vs [6,10] for [yang, yin] for
each line in the first hexagram.
